Sculptures at Aras, President Mary McAleese unveiled two sculptures by Richard Healy, commissioned by the OPW at the new sensory garden at Aras An Uachtarain. The first to be unveiled on the day was "Taste" a piece by Roisin de Butleir. This was followed by Richards' "Bluebells" A piece created to engage with the public through sight, touch and sound. It is a playful piece and visually beautiful. Each of the seven bells has a unique ring to it. The second of Richards' pieces to be unveiled by Mary McAleese at the sensory border, was his"Sensory Alphabet". The President was helped by Abbie Healy (9) a pupil at St Joesephs school for the visually impaired in Drumcondra, Dublin. Abbie translated a Braille message on the sculpture that read "you are welcome".


Sculpture in Context at 4 Seasons Hotel 2013-14 Richards piece 'Sentinel' along with a number of works from this years show at the botanic gardens were selected for display at the 4 Seasons Hotel. The show runs until early 2014. See sculptureincontext.com for details.


Enjoy Art 2013 was an exhibition in Taichung, Taiwan. It ran from the 20th of July to the 20th of October and featured the works of nine Artists from Ireland and the UK. Richard exhibited two works 'Corolla and 'leaf and Berry'. The exhibition received a huge response and it was a real honour for Richard to have his two sculptures, in Irish Limestone, exhibited in the Far East. The other artists in the show were Daniel Chadwick, Elizabeth Cope, Michael Duhan, Mike Fitzharris, Mark Garry, Nuala O Donovan, Patrick O Reilly and Peter Randall-Page.
